“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.” – Hans Hoffman
Yesterday morning it was cold and icy here in Tennessee. As I got in my car realized there was quite a bit of ice on the windshield. If I had pulled out I wouldn’t have seen a thing on the road.
After directing the heat toward it and some old-fashioned elbow grease with a scraper the ice started to clear. Just a few minutes later I could see and pulled out on my way to work.
Our life is a bit like that windshield. It can quickly get clouded with things that are unnecessary and before long it’s hard to distinguish the important from the urgent. We need to take a little time to clear it then we can actually see.
Today, consider a 5 minute action you can take to simplify and clear space for those necessary, life-giving things in your life.
