Dear Lord,
Thank you for being so generous to me over and over. For giving me all that I need and so many things that I don’t need, but enjoy. You pour out your grace and mercy so often and so generously in each moment of the day. So many times though I don’t even notice it. I see what others have that I don’t. I see their possessions. I see their ‘perfect’ family. I see the influence they have with others. I can only see what they have that I don’t and the envy tugs at my heart. It steals my joy and peace.
Lord, help me to be content with what you have given me. I want a heart of peace. A heart that is refreshed with gratefulness each morning and evening. One that is quick to praise You for all the good things you bring into my life each day. Please fill my heart with thankfulness today.
